THE GALLEON

Located in the heart of Edinburgh, The Galleon is the state-of-the-art sports and leisure centre at George Watson’s College.

It’s home to the school’s extensive sports programme and also welcomes the wider community through its Club membership.

George Watson’s College has a long tradition of sporting success and participation across all levels. The school was recently shortlisted for “Sporting Achievement” at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025, recognising its exceptional sports culture and results.

Beyond competition, the school promotes an inclusive “sport for all” ethos and supports community sport development through partnerships such as Sporting Start, helping fund opportunities for young athletes in Edinburgh and beyond.
